Calling all creators: Get Involved!  Improve whole child, whole school academic outcomes .  Let's celebrate life-long-learning & curiousity via multi-sensory nature based learning spaces.  Whether you are a parent, educator, or community member, you can make a difference in the lives of young learners.   • Advocate for your local Community-Living-Schoolyard, today. Let's start with mulch cover on earth, to promote living soil food web/ sponge. Then layers of shrubs, and trees, to create cool microclimates;
    As part of the functioning water cycle and ecosystem.

  • Volunteer to create Nature based play areas, that also stabilize heat, increase wildlife for learning.

Volunteer or advocate for Green Schoolyards today. Creativity is encouraged in Community School Culture.

Mondays-Fridays AFTERSCHOOL: Extended Learning Opportunities

Students (can invite their parents to check-in then) read in our Library, Garden, and exercise Artistic Expression in our creative maker spaces, Paint, Draw, Write, Poetry, make Music & Movements.

Culture improves positive memories/associations, & bridges academic gaps.

WHY: Let's GROW... to increase attendance & bridge academic gaps.

The benefits of schoolyard gardens for students & school communities are numerous:
protection against heat, increased physical activity, social-emotional wellness, and improved mental health.
Learning benefits such as hands-on curriculum, environmental literacy, increased attention span, and improved academic performance.

Ecological and climate resilience benefits such as carbon capture, decreased energy consumption/cooling needs, and improved stormwater management. 
Community benefits via family engagement, community cohesion, and increased stewardship.

Community PAINTING can be a lot of fun and a great way to express creativity.
Meet up to encourage stewardship & beautifications of our spaces. In addition to the health benefits, community paintings ingnite Youth Leadership Skills for resume building & for applications to higher learning opportunities.

Equitable Communities Grant Award

Mulch delivery and a $5,000 online grant will advance climate equity, health, and wellness at our Community School's joint park. Join us amplifying our gratitude!
Help us finalize the award by sharing your recommendations on $5000 of purchases for continuous improvements in our literacy focused, eco restoration living community school yards.

Scholastic Book Fair

Highly anticipated book fair empowers Independant and critical thinking via alternative learning opportunities for the entire family.

Family FRIDAYS & FUNdraising

Community Convivo! & Monthly Playdate @ our Park*!
Our Community asked for sports, so let's let the kids play on our Family Gathering days with an afterschool Play-date. Please RSVP to confirm your students interest and "alternative programming"?
* Let's coordinate any students interested in playing or learning a Game or new skill.

Let Students Play! (15 minutes of sports drills of fundamentals, followed by mini game sprints.)
* Art, Dance, & Sing in community! Bring an instrument or come make one amongst friends.

Students are encouraged to create a Pinata/ Parade float for the Linda Vista MultiCultural Fair. Parents are invited to create a number Pinata for each grade level. The resulting Art pieces will be exhibited and raffled as a fundraiser sponsored in partnership with our Parents Organization and Carson Elementary School. Connect with questions.

Adopt a Bench: Literacy Development

Literacy focused project enables students to gain Youth Leadership Skills in bench making.
Community grows appreciation continuously improving connectivity and beautifications.

Our students need welcoming areas with benches to sit and read in shade.
Volunteers appreciated in sourcing materials and improving our campus environment with benches, growing space, beautifications.
